About Sonmarg

Sonmarg is situated in the Sindh Valley along the banks of the Sindh River. Unlike Gulmarg and Pahalgam, Sonmarg retains a more untouched, raw beauty. The drive from Srinagar follows a spectacular route through the narrow Sindh Valley with towering peaks on both sides.

The crown jewel of Sonmarg is the Thajiwas Glacier, a small but stunning glacier accessible via a short pony ride or trek from the main town. Even in summer, you can play in snow here.

Sonmarg is also the starting point for the Zoji La pass road to Ladakh, making it a crucial junction on the Srinagar-Leh highway. Adventure seekers can explore Vishansar Lake, Krishansar Lake, and Gangabal Lake through multi-day treks.
